Broadly, I am an applied microeconomist with research interests in health and labor economics. My work examines how health and health shocks—particularly disability—affect labor market outcomes. I aim to deepen the understanding of how health and public policy influence human capital investment and labor market behavior throughout the life cycle. My current projects examine various sources of heterogeneity in the effects of health shocks, including the timing or type of functions that are inhibited. Moreover, I explore the broader insurance–incentive tradeoffs embedded in labor market social insurance programs and how distinct programs interact to provide insurance following adverse health events.
